Our Journey and Mission

Quarry Cafe & Fridge CIC began in 2017 as a one-day-a-week community cafe on the Stone Quarry estate in East Grinstead. When the COVID‑19 pandemic forced us to close in 2020, we adapted by launching a community fridge to support local people with access to fresh food. What started as a simple table outside a community room quickly grew into a vital resource, allowing us to distribute food and prepare ready meals for those most in need.

As restrictions eased, the cafe and fridge evolved into a combined project, enabling us to expand both our opening hours and the support we provide. At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to supporting people with dignity, reducing food waste, and breaking down the stigma that can prevent individuals from seeking help.
